Daniel grew up in Hannibal Missouri, where he studied & performed in a professional amphitheater production called “The Life & Times of Mark Twain.” (where he met Jason Clement) Link’s portrayal of “Huck Finn” was spotlighted on Good Morning America & he performed for President Jimmy Carter during the first families tour of Hannibal.
In high school, Daniel’s creative range expanded into writing & music. As a journalism student, he was frequently called upon to be a high-school correspondent for the Hannibal Courier Post. Later, the head of the Hannibal High music program created a credited songwriting course for Daniel, recognizing his talent for composition & lyric writing. In his senior year, Link wrote & recorded his first song, which aired during an interview on KHMO.
After graduation, Link took his last bow as an actor, and headed to Austin, Texas (where he met Ralph Lopez) to pursue a career as a singer songwriter. By 2005, Daniel was a well established regional artist with 3 critically acclaimed CD releases (thanks to Bryan Anderton). Openly gay, he was an advocate for people with AIDS, headlining AIDS Walk Austin two years in a row. Austin Mayor Gus Garcia proclaimed July 11, 2002 as “Daniel Link Day”, in recognition of Link’s impact on Austin as a musician. Under his musical accomplishments was Daniel’s savvy for artist promotion. Saving expenses, he learned graphic & website design and how to market his music professionally. Daniel’s branding flare got the attention of Larry Flick, Editor and Chief at Billboard, who wrote full page features of Daniel’s first 2 releases.
Relocating to Santa Fe in 2010, Daniel and his partner Ralph Lopez co-founded Poster Boyz, a unique guerrilla marketing boutique, with graphic + website design capabilities. Always looking to innovate, the duo began visioning a contemporary model for guerrilla marketing + collaborative advertising that would easily scale & fit the needs of high volume entertainment events, or the local Hemp Store. In the summer of 2017, CitySwivel was born.
Ralph Lopez
Co-founder // Vision Director
Ralph honed his skills in the healthcare nonprofit industry, after obtaining his master’s degree in Human Services from St. Edward’s University in Austin.
From this background he offers a vision of nurturing the success of artists and nonprofits–whatever their medium may be—in their quest to inspire and transform.
From The RainHouse, an indigenous nation’s sustainable education forum, to The Rites of Passage, the first AIDS-specific home health care agency in central Texas, Ralph was able to gain valuable insight into community sharing and healing.
He was on the original customer service team at Dell Computer, while attending college in Austin. And these cross-over skill sets define CitySwivel’s core brand, values & vision.
